Windows Loses 400 Million Users in 3 Years
Microsoft’s latest data shows Windows active devices have dropped from 1.4 billion in 2022 to around 1 billion in 2025 about 400 million fewer users. This isn’t due to macOS dominance, but rather people replacing PCs with smartphones and tablets. While Windows remains strong in gaming and enterprise, average consumer demand is shifting toward mobile and cheaper web-based alternatives.
